“McLean’s direction… packs more punches than many productions twice that length. Tense, disturbing and utterly compelling…perfectly formed.” Yorkshire Post ****

The Killing Class by David Fielding
WARNING – THIS VIDEO CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE AND VIOLENCE
“Thrilling and emotionally charged drama”
“Super Energized Horror and Humour”
“The Killing Class is ‘Scum’ meets ‘The History Boys’ with a ‘Romeo & Juliet’ twist; the protagonists are young people who deal with violence, anger, fear, and hope in their lives. What makes this play different from all other productions is that this play shows fearlessly the truth about the lives of young offenders behind bars. Without hiding anything. This play speaks directly to young people who are dealing with Justice and those who have already made the wrong decisions in life but now want to change.”
The Half Stitched Healing Club
Set in a run-down church hall in Ilford, 12 women gather to stitch away their pain under the guidance of Greek Guru Adonis, the master quilter. Friendships, desire, love and life are explored as the tension of the story is kept at a constantly exhilarating pitch. The characters are completely diverse in their racial, cultural and generational compositions which lends to the dynamic realism of their personal situations and journeys throughout the story.
‘Sewing isn’t the only thing these women signed up for!’
A comedy drama performed by the newly formed East London drama group, Mind, Body and Soul funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund.
Jayden’s War by David Fielding
During the riots of 2011 Jae Williams was arrested for stealing a pair of trainers and left behind his two year old son Jayden. 14 years llater Jayden, just like his father, wants change. It’s now 2025, there are 5 million unemployed and Society is split into two sections, unemployed youths in The Hollow and the higher intelligence above ground. The world is a more dismal place and more segregated than ever.
In 2025 London’s streets are littered with youths, many with PhDs but all with no jobs, no money and no hope of a better life. The government want a solution. Pushing youths into volunteering programmes to keep them off the streets hasn’t worked. So now they’ve built a city underground to clear the streets of the scum.
Only people of the highest intelligence are picked to live above ground working long hours and watched over by androids whilst the others are put in The Hollow an underground society where people are put to work like slaves and forgotten about with no chance of escape.]
Riots have been a part of London’s history since 1189 with the most recent being 2011. Y&T Rep Company have worked in partnership with London Metropolitan Archives on this Heritage Lottery Fund Young Roots project to explore the history of gangs and riots in London. History moves on but the reason we riot has not changed. Money, education, oppression, recession.]
In Jayden’s War there are no mobile phones, no tablets or PCs. Instead there are Google glasses and IT scrolls. These are prototypes in development as we speak.
DYING OUT LOUD – A brand new play Written by David Fielding and Directed by Suzann McLean.
The play is set in a comprehensive secondary school in East London.
The action takes place 5 months after a school shooting leaves 5 dead, including the shooter.<
7 students survived and now face a rough recovery – physically and mentally picking up the pieces of their traumatised lives. But something just doesn’t add up, the shooter was the schools star pupil with no outwardly reasons why he would do such a thing. The police have closed the case, but is that the end? And if not, then ‘whodunit’.
