On Sunday the 18th of March Young and Talented school of stage and screen competed in The Jack Petchey Glee Club Challenge Grand Final to a sold out audience of 1500 at The 02 Indigo.
It was a fantastic night celebrating over 200 young people and their talents. Everyone put on great performances and it was a magical night. Our two routines Brexit and One Love were awarded Runners Up in the competition.
The 21, 11-16 year olds of Young and Talented won their place in the 2017 final of the Jack Petchey competition after a lot of determination, hard work and most importantly heart.
The group rehearsed every Saturday at Oxford House in Bethnal Green with founder and director Suzann McLean, musical director Jordan Xavier and choreographer Christopher Gordon.
At The 02 they performed in front of a panel of celebrity judges including West End leading performers Simon Lipkin and Daniel Boys, EastEnders stars John Partridge and Danny Boy-Hatchard, X-Factor’s Brenda Edwards and BBC’s Arts Correspondent Brenda Emmanus. This lead them onto an appearance on London Live to celebrate their triumph.
Young and Talented wishes to thank all of our supporters, team and young performers on their success. We are looking forward to next year all ready.
